Hello Everyone, Thank you for your interest in our One Act auditions for our Theater Arts Symposium. We know that many of you are nervous and may not have auditioned before. Just remember to have fun and do your best. Below you will find out what you need to do to make the audition process run smoothly.
A few thoughts to help you: This process is like a job interview. Great first impressions are important. So, smile, have energy, enjoy yourself, speak loudly and listen to any adjustments or request by the audition panel and importantly be YOU!!!! We are on your side and want you to do fantastic and we understand this may be a new experience for many of you. Please remember that how you act out in the lobby and during the process are just as important as the talent you bring to the table. In a rehearsal process no one wants to work with a mean, non focused, self-centered person. There is a short time limit to rehearse and get the show up, so a cast that works well with no attitude and a single focus can make the process enjoyable and effortless. Audition process for One Acts:**
Sign in Process
Sign in on sheet located on the bulletin board outside the women's dressing room.
Supply Tel/Email
This is extremely important so that we can contact you for casting decisions and information.
Fill out audition sheet with all of your information on the day of the audition.
Attach a P&R if you have one. Click the link below for more information.
Become familiar with it by reading it through 4-5 times.
Make a strong choice on:
Who you are in the scene.
What do you want in the scene
Speak loudly when on stage.
HAVE FUN!!!!!!!
Please Note:
Full cast Read thru Wed 12/7/11 - 3:00pm-4:30pm to go thru schedules, etc. FULL COMPANY
Full cast Read thru Thur 12/8/11 - 3:00pm-4:30pm FULL COMPANY
Rehearsal:
Rehearsals start: 12/19/11 - 12/21/11 these rehearsals will allow a jump start before vacation.
After vacation:
Rehearsals start: 1/2/12 Again rehearsals start 1/2/12 - Please check the rehearsal schedule listed below to see what possible days you are rehearsing, depending upon which cast you are a part of.
You will be rehearsing during holidays and days off (teacher inservice days).
We have done a rotation schedule to allow for other responsibilities in your life. If you have a job or another after school event which conflicts with your schedule, please let us know asap, so we can work out a possible solution.
The Symposium is a two day event Sat. 1/28/12 and Sun. 1/29/12 from 9:00am - 6:00pm. You must be present for both days and rehearsals to be considered for a cast. Remember, this is a commitment.
